I juat got the most fantastic Bifurcated Rivets catalogue from ebay. It dates to about 1910 and is in fact in French - Rivets Bifurque. There are pictures of French rivets tins! I don't have any of those. There also pictures of Rivets Tubulaires - I have never seen tins for those in English let along French.

What a strange bunch the US military spokespeople are. There is the woman with weird dress sense who nevers answers a question. There is the one who looks as though he has seen a ghost and shows the "war is just a video game" films, and also doesn't answer questions. Then there is the tall thin one in Quatar who looks like GI Joe and clearly has no sense of humour, oh and he doesn't answer questions either. (Not that any of them are actually paid to answer questions of course!) And, of course, not forgetting Ari Fleischer who is much the best of all of them at the job, because he appears to answer questions. He even does banter. The trouble is he reminds me of the guy who did the press meetings in Spin City.

comong to mu office tonight, I pressed hte lift call button and the lift came down and the doors opened. AH, it does seem to be gaffer tape. Masking tape must be mis-reporting. Whew. i would have been really worried if people hadn't had the protection of gaffer tape. (The high thread count stuff of course). I was thinking about how to build a shelter using gaffer tape - invert a table and carefully wrap it round and round the legs and then build a roof out of strips. A bit stcky on the inside I suppose. I wonder how many rolls you would need?
