Listening to a collection of Tony Rice guitar pieces - fantastic stuff with Jerry Douglas, Vassar Clements, Norman Blake, Doyle Lawson and loads of others.
Mac IE users should now be able to see the page rather better - you've lost the search boxes for the moment though and some other things are not quite in the right places..... (if you don't see a difference, flush your cache)
I just installed a test of JAWS the screen reader, and set it to use British English. It's a hoot.
Beatifully clear Japanese, weird as hell, but I can make out the words and even understand some of it.
Our pond has loads of newts in it this year. I finally managed to get my onions and shallots planted - much too late though.
Sphere of fear - having never seen the latest SW movies I donlt actually get most of these jokes.
Colorcode - I've seen a couple of references to this recently so I wonder if this is going to be a hot new technology.
Aardvark looks useful. I wonder if it plays nicely with web developer (without which I would entirely lost)?
Strange Banana - genertae a random website design. All of them look better than mine *sigh*
I see that reading email is more damaging to the brain than smoking dope. Or perhpas I am imagining it. I forget.
This report about swat monkeys has been everywhere, but nobody has yet commented on the mention of "suicude victims" : how can you be a victim of suicide? Blame culture strikes again.
Someone just sent me a shot of what this page looks like in IE5 on a Mac. Of course if you are trying to read this using IE 5 on a Mac then youw on't actually be able to read this. It's that bad.
Cake Man Raven - interesting cakes, but judging solely from the photos, his icing technique is not as good as it could be - the BBQ in particular strikes me as poor. (My grandmother was a trained, professional cake decorator so I know what good technique looks like)
Apparently, some hard-of-hearing cardinal voted for "Bottiglia", Italian for bottle, when someone whispered that he should vote for Wojtyla in 1978
Thanks to Lynn for the new graphic at the top. (IE users will currently be experiencing ugliness, but, hey, you should be used to that)
A cow with a window (some of the first research on human digestion was done on someone who had a hole into their stomach casued by a musket wound)
Google maps manages to miss out my street (OK, my street actually has three names, but all the same...)
Google maps UK - which also features the weirdness that I have seen elsewhere that Gateshead is marked rather than Newcastle.
Some of these are clever and funny, others not so : Stupid Gaijin is good as is Jewelry King, some I just don't get (what is 3 food detectives with pervery neighbour???) and some are on the wrong side of funny
This one will offend - NWA's Straight out of Compton with everything *but* the swearing taking out Definietly NSFW
BTW has anyone have the routine for that card trick I linked to? Seems to be a lot of double lifts and stuff going on but it is hard to make out. And there are a couple of moves I don't know, or at least I don't recognise. Also does anyone have the routine for Vernon's Twisting the Aces? I worked it out from watching a video of Jerry Sadowitz performing it, but didn't write it down and I've forgotten it now. Some of you must be cardicians!
Superbly executed card trick - wonderful technique. The packet he is using, as far as I can make out, contains a single 2, a single 10 and a king of Diamonds and a King of Clubs. I particular like the move where he jumps the 10 out into his palm to show it the fourth time.
I wonder if humans will evolve a third arm in order to hold their mobiles to their ears so that they can go on doing things that need both hands?
Interesting idea or email address harvesting scam? (I can always add it to the comments if people want)
I was bored with the white so added a subtle stripe. (I really do need to make the page look prettier, but let's face it, I'm not a graphic designer, but remember all the code that you can't see that makes it work is of course beautiful and superb)
I hope that all Newcastle and district people have signed up for the local freecycle group.
Been playing with the look of the comments again, and am planning some new stuff in there too (I'm pinching a spiffy Ajax idea from someone....never accuse me of not being overeager to try the trendy stuff)
Good lord, you're a touchy bunch this weekend. I think I'll go back on holiday. (See small comment tussle elsewhere or just ignore this entry)
Good Grief - I'd love to see this, though it would probably just depress me since I can barely do a simple pass.
Oh Dear - this kind of thing is incomprehensible to me. (Since everyone was wilfully misunderstanding me, I changed Europeans.....)
Advertisers may try some weird stuff with storing data using flash - here is something that will let you turn off storage.
Fake Dr. Pepper - why, oh why, would anyone want to fake Dr. Pepper? It is a vile potion that only people force fed it from birth could love.
I bet I asked this before but can anyone think of any streets in the UK that are named for dates? All over the rest of Europe there are date streets but none that I can think of in the UK (and possibly the USA & Canada???)
April 6th - won't travel of course because the name is meaningless outside the SA (I assume that it is tax day)
