How do you get chocolate out from under the B key on an iBook?

If you very very gently lift up the key, it should come fully off. you have to be very careful not to snap the little hooks on the bottom of the key. get out the chocolate and it should just snap back into place afterwards. not too hard.

wait for a warm day, hold the Ibook over your head and suck...

George

What Paul Dunlop said, but be VERY VERY careful. The hinges under the key can snap so easily.

dan

Same way you get it out from under the Y key. ;)

Jerry Brown

Yeah, used to happen all the time at Apple. but to be honest, even if it does snap, most AppleCentres will give you a new one free of charge. We always had spare keyboards with keys missing lying around. Just ask nicely ;-)

Paul Dunlop

what the heck have you been doing with your poor ibook?

Dru

This reminds me of the time when I was maybe 12- I was at a PC, and drinking Coke straight from a 2L bottle, and I thumped the bottle down on the desk with the cap off-- the soda geysered out and over the keyboard. Sticky Armageddon! Of course, you could (in theory) put a PC's keyboard under a faucet no problem, but I don't think that'd work with a laptop...

You can, however, take the keyboard out relatively easily. Unplug the ribbon cable and now you can use all kinds of tools to clean it, including "air in a can" etc.
