Wonderful piece of scaremongering - has the person writing this even stopped to condsider the amount of data involved what they suggest is going to happen?

Nothing the current administration does surprises me anymore. Mountains of data or non-feasability is no object to a plan .
Look at our latest missle defense missles in Alaska, they cancelled the last 13 tests and STILL went ahead and installed them.

Damn it.

If I want to speed, drive unroadworthy cars, or hide teenage girls in my boot its none of the goddamn government's business.

This guy obviously doesn't understand that if the government really wanted to track his movements they could, its as simple as that.

ZZ, if you're going to hide (presumably live) teenage girls in your car boot, you could at least make the journey more comfortable by *NOT* speeding in an unroadworthy car ;-P

Chris Kuan

Um, maybe the more you don't know the better ;)

For instance did you know that most new cars record you speed and other "facts" about the car, and if a crash occurs these can be retrieved (something like 5 seconds before the accident are stored). Volvo have this system apparently and convicted someone because of it.

And in regard to the link, how far removed is that compared to the "Pay-Per-Mile" idea of the current UK goverment - tracking the cars and charging according to the roads you drive...

ScareMondering it is, but the truth is somewhat more sinister than that :)

Now live teenage girls would just be inhumane...

ZZ

Well, that's OK then

Chris Kuan

... It needn't be all that information/bandwidth-intensive if the system only carps about transgressions. This looks like a warrant-free information faucet.
