It sounds like the Western attitude is that we are merely observers of a mechanistic, materialist world. What exists within an objective reality outside of our bodies can be described without prejudice. Thus, things are or are not, with no implication of fault for perceiving (or failing to perceive) them as such. <br /> <br /> Whereas that last section seems to tell me about an existence that is presented via ourselves to others, and it is how we convey these impressions that reflects our (and their) attitudes regarding the worth of the presentations...
