finding lettuce which doesn't bolt to seed in the sub-tropics can be trying. we grow beet leaves and rocket and mizuna to supplement a very small amount of shop bought cos, and it works well. <br /> <br /> iceberg is crap.

You're right about the "wrapping material"... iceberg is the lettuce of choice for the Chinese dish "sang choy bow", usually a stir-fried mince mix wrapped in a lettuce leaf.
