Just outside of Rio de Janeiro, in an area called Barra de Tejuca, there is an abandoned amusement park in the parking lot of a shopping mall. It's my understanding that it was built but never opened due because a corrupt contractor had skimped on safety. Sadly, my inability to speak Portuguese is thwarting my efforts to find any photos online.
