While I do agree that Windows has taken a very, very, very long time to become stable, I do wonder why this person seems to have so many weird problems when I don't seem to have any at all.

I guess part of the problem with Windows is that it still really works best when kept clean and tidy, and part of that can involve messing with the registry which your average joe wouldn't want to do. And people like to install things. Everything, in fact. Not to mention that even when you uninstall something, you can bet that it's not *completely* gone.

Now *I'm* wondering why I'm a Windows tech...

Windows should stop proporting itself as something that is simple and easy, and trsutworthy for you average Joe to use.

I'll admit that 70% of my problems with XP are caused by me. But I can't install QuickTime properly due to windows interfering, MS Office programs don't open for longer than 10 seconds anymore, it keeps "forgetting" certain hardware is already installed and the stupid error checker can't fix errors anymore because the windows won't let it.

Sooner or later Microsoft is going to go down; and then we can start complaining about how crap its replacement is.

I have to use Windows at work. It is awful. None of the error messages make any sense. At the moment I have a recurring message from Setup which will not go away. Why do these stupid fanatics insist on running Windows?

(I am very happy at home with Tiger, being productive)
