"A l'eau. C'est l'heure." The motto of the French Navy (according to the sleeve nots on a Sandy Brechin CD). What should call sleeve notes on a CD since there is no sleeve? Case notes?

Liner notes? That's what I've always called them.

Hmmm, liner notes went on the bag round the record before it went in the sleeve. I think that liner notes may be westpondian - I know the usage of course, but we always called them sleeve notes. CDs are so sadly lacking in such finery, though things do seem to be looking up now that they seem to be moving away from those horrible "jewel cases" and using nice cardboard often with books and stuff.

I want vinyl with the direct access of CDs. That would be ideal. CDs are just not nice things neither are cassettes, there is something mean about them taht does inspire and exalt.
