What on earth is an "inhalator"? Why is it not just an "inhaler"?

Inhalator

It is an Americanism but one of those that is 'correct'. You would not say 'Respirer' over 'respirator' would you? Additionally, the word 'aluminium' is incorrect. You would not say 'platininium'. The correct word IS 'aluminum'. Wonderful what you discover when married to an American...

James

Inhalator is *not* correct English, nor is Aluminum. They might very well be correct American, but they definitely are not correct English. There are many Englishes and they are all very different.

beats the shit out of me but as a dutch we use the word inhalator as well, like vibrator ventilator etc.

pehaps Glaxo with his ventolin made it a brand .

boys, boys, boys....an Inhalator is the mechanical type, an inhaler is portable. Not too hard, eh?

Lynn

inhalers do not typically MIX vapours, where inhalators mix-anything and in any proportion...unlike your RX inhalers. No?

Jaymes, really.....

Aluminium? You wouldn't say "Londinium" would you? Of course not, it's "London".

Also, note the correct spelling of your name, please.
