Here's an article about a city about to install a pedestrian bridge built with a new technique. The article doesn't mention the collapse of a pedestrian bridge with a new design which collapsed in Florida just a few weeks ago.

But of more interest to this RISKS group is the fact that they'll be installing a "series of smart sensors [...] so the bridge will actually know how many people are walking on it and how quickly they're moving." I wonder if this could be a privacy concern, especially since it's being built in
"the largest and best-known red-light district in Amsterdam."
