A charming and intelligent woman full of mischief. Jay wrestled with life and usually won. She was tremendously considerate and generous and she protected her children ferociously. Jay was born in Basingstoke, England and migrated to the United States to marry William Martin, a soldier she met after World War II who became a psychologist. She later divorced and remarried Richard Vawter Stevenson, a long-time physician in Lexington, Kentucky. Jay had two children, Leda Nicolette and Nicolas Simon. Nicolas Martin28th December 2008 |
