See Through?

Here are the results of the survey about expressions used when your view is blocked:

"Your great-grandfather was a glazier but you're not made of glass!"
A family expression. My great-grandfather was a glazier and the relationship is adjusted as appropriate. Someone submitted the variant "Was your father a glazier?" with a suggestion it was from Yiddish. It certainly wasn't in my family though!

"Carne de burro no es transparente!"
South American Spanish - I've deleted Heather Anne's message and I can't remember what she said about the provenance! Help! I guess it tranlates as "Donkey meat is not see through"", but as I don't speak Spanish I can't guarantee this.

"You make a better door than you do a window!"
Described by the many submitters as a family expression, but it seems widespread. In fact there have now been several submissions of variants:

"You've been drinking muddy water."
Family expression from the Southern USA. The submitter objected to my addition of an exclamation mark as he/she said that the remark was made in a low key, sarcastic tone. My apologies. Also used in Galveston texas.

"Avast behind!"
Used in a group of friends in the UK. (Punning on "vast behind", of course)

"Despite the pain/pane you're not a window!"
Family, USA

"Machen sie aus!"
German = Literally "make yourself out the way", described as family by the submitter, but is this not what you would say in German anyway? (I have no German)

"If you turn your head sideways we could at least see through your ears"
Family, Calgary, Alberta

"Do me favor and stand right there. Thanks."
New York, 5 boroughs

"I'm going to red up the room"
Meaning I'm going to clean up the room. Central Pennsylvania. This one puzzles me.

"Glaubst du bist durchsichtig?"
Family, German, Trans: Do you think you're see through?

"Oh no! I've been eclipsed!"
Group of friends, particualrly in cinemas.

"heenkshapti ches"
Aremenians in Beirut. Trans :You're not a Thursday. Explanation: Thursday is the least important day. Everyone sees through it. It's like an invisible day. It's an extra in the week.
