Thanks to Dru I am even more confused about Language Removal Services - see number 8.
They're a bunch of wacky PoMo hipsters here in the US. They take old and new voice recordings and instead of editing out the "uh"s and "ah"s and lips smacking and throat clearing that a radio editor would, they edit out the persons speech, leaving this bizarre noise. Its really kind of dumb... they claim this noise is the "essence" of a person, the sound of their soul. As such, people with no nervous speaking habits are soulless. I think they just sit around and laugh at the new age people who don't see the postmodernism of it and actually believe they will learn something about themselves by listening to a collection of their own snorts and coughs... and pay LRS to do what they do to a recording of their voice. But maybe there is something transcendant to it all... who knows.
