Oh, I did go up the tower in Pisa, though I didn't go to the very top : my vertigo kicked in seriously on the 7th floor and I couldn't even get to the bottom of the last flight of stairs. Very odd experience going up though - the lean makes it feel so weird.
I had the same vertigo problem when I attempted to go up into a light house in Daytona Beach Florida. Got about half way up then clung to the railing of the spiral stair case. So I let the wife go up with the video camera so she could tape me from above.<br /> As it turns out I had swimmers ear from the hotel pool and that was throwing off my balance.
