The Radio 4 thing is on just after 7AM GMT tomorrow they tell me (world not having ended of course). If anyone hears it do tell me - I won't be listening: I have this terrible whiny Edinburgh accent. And of course they're running my points and then asking the Minister to respond and so I'll probably get torn apart and not be able to defend. Ah well, comes of being a media whore.
I did one in a booth here for ABC Radio National Australia. those cans they stuff on your hied really fold back well. its like you are glued into somebody 2000km away, right next door (modulo delay) and your own voice is uncanny. of course, once heard post-transmission, ones own voice is about as abjectly embarrassing as its possible to get without waking up nude in st pauls with an early morning erection in front of the assembled masses. utterly hateful.

but don't worry about them twisting your words out of context, the listenership are now literate and know to untwist it back!

-George

I once did a piece from a self-operated studio in Keswick. There was no heating and it was really really cold so I shivered all through it. The piece today I did from my own kitchen by phone so that wasn't so bad - better than having to do it live at 7AM!

I missed it. I guess it was my fault for staying up completing my coursework, rather than getting some sleep.
Rob
Sleep is more important.

You can hear that "whiny Edinburgh accent" on the radio 4 website.

Today 7-8 slot. You're about 15 minutes in after the MyTravel colapse report (they're not really colapsing, but the interviewer is trying to get them to say that they are..)

Really must learn to spell, just add two "l"'s to that please..

And while you are on the Today site, visit the "Join the Debate" and under
"The Studio" look for my rants about BBC grammar.

Thought I reckoned that voice...Radio 2, prime time today.

It's positive they're doing something though - although the common user probably won't know anything about it, and even the hardened government watchdogs don't have particularly big teeth. At least it makes a change that they're doing something sensible, rather than raising university fees, waging war and applying software patents.

In this office we thought you were clear and direct, and that Naughtie had been listening. However, we would have liked you to perhaps bang your fists on the table a little...
