Look at this page, and think carefully about whether you want to live in a world where any one of these gadgets is needed, let alone the four that are shown. (this stir fried from the <1Angus Index1)

Am I allowed to want, as opposed to need, any of those gadgets?

Chris McKeown

Not sure about that - they are pretty weird.

If I had arthritis, I might want the jar opener. those lever-wedge thingies they give old dears are all very well, but if you are sufficiently buggered, the electronic version might be good. so how about re-visiting this when you're 103?

the motion sensing bin is quite nice, i wouldn't be pissed off if the path-lab used one to dispose of sharps etc.

I bet the electronic corkscrew doesn't work very well.

But it was smart of the mary-tyler-moore hair curler company to realize they needed a new role for their curler-heater! I wouldn't eat one of those snags if you paid me.

I did get a battery operated pepper mill with built in light for my birthday and it is FABULOUS. Works great, pepper never
tasted so good.

I would be partial to the Motion Sensing Trash Can, if I could be set to detect an incoming paperball ala basketball. Maybe a national defense system built around smart sensors which would collect the refuse?

Andy Hull

You are all very sad (and even if I where 103 I wouldn't want an electric jar opener - there are perfectly good manual equivalents, and if I get to 103, it'll the corkscrew I'll need anyway)

I want one of the hot-dog cookers, they look ace. ( I wouldn't use it, it is just one of the best things to have on your kitchen worksurface for people to notice)
Very dubious about a Thermoelectric Cooling Fruit Saver though.
