The Peeps Challenge - of course, I have absolutely no idea what peeps actually are. Some strange US -only sweet I presume. Like Candy Corn (bleurch)
They're sickly-sweet marshmallow chick-shaped lollies covered with sugar. So, sugar-coated sugar confection. NOT like candycorn, which isn't a US-only thing (we have it in Australia too but don't call it that). Only the Americans would eat Peeps.
Chy
A great description, Chy. 100% accurate! To those of you who are still not quite sure about these things, they are responsible for many a dentist having a summer home on the lake with an enormous boat to cruise around in with his surgically enhanced (and equally enormous) companion.
Jonderson
They're also only available for about a month before Easter and then magically whisked away off the shelves and back to the warehouses to await next year. So we have a full 11 months to forget how awful they are before they appear again and you think "they can't really be as bad as all that..."

chew! chew!
telendro
I took some to an Easter gathering where my nieces showed me the marvelous transformations to the nasty things when you place just one in a microwave!!!
(It will bloat up to at least 2x's the size...and if you pound it out into a tortilla it turns into a hard candy plate!!!)
Just awful candy, totally kitsch-y, and probably banned in Europe due to unidentifiable ingredients.
