Grrr, the network is screwed in some way so I can only get to about one machine.
hmm... "Grr" is so "user" why not fix it? or is there a demarcation w/in your organization as to who fixes what?

It was a problem with either routers or someone else's machine - not my job! (It's rather a large network......)
