Is it just me or does Monk Jr. seem like a blowhard in this interview? My college roommate bought a Thelonius Monk album 20 years ago only to get home and upon listening to it notice the 1/8 inch letters "jr" at the end of the word "Monk" which had been printed in 54 inch letters. The album was crap, by the way.

Indeed he does seem like a blowhard. And Coltrane's son also doesn't come over too well - vastly over-intellectualising it (a la Marsalis). Of course, all the other guys come over as sad, white fanboys too, so they aren't that much better! I love Monk and Coltrane and it is interesting to hear them play together but it isn't <span style="font-style: italic;">that </span>great.
