Now here is a dilemma. The Martin Taylor Quintet are playing Newcastle City Hall. Martin Taylor is simply one of the best jazz guitarists playing at the moment. However, they are backing Tony Christie. I have no desire at all to see or indeed hear Tony Christie. I don't know what to do.
If I remember correctly (though I don't drink now) there are several excellent hostelries within walking distance of the City Hall. I once went to Middlesbrough Town Hall to see Michael Chapman who was opening for Jack The Lad. MC was great, and I gave Jack the Lad 2 songs to impress me. 3rd song I was out of there!
