Good grief, I am becoming a grumpy old man - I just fired off an email of complaint to ITV about their news broadcast tonight which had the most incredibly offensive coverage of the recent deaths of children in a Greek holiday resort. Full of misinformation, unsubstantiated suggestions, intrusive journalism, over the top nonsense. It was unbelievable.

Two days ago I wrote to the Guardian Film Critic asking how he could review You-Tube "snuff" comedy without mentioning that (a) most snuff is fictive/urban-myth and (b) watching videos of people falling down manholes is not to be compared to comedy at its finest, buster keaton practiced and had a mat. the women in his instance probably wound up dead, or a paraplegic.</p><p> gee, ain't it fun turning reactionary! <br /></p>

I must say some of the coverage of this story has made me feel uncomfortable. I see the official verdict is carbon monoxide poisoning which was my inital guess when I heard what happened. I don't suppose it makes for a good a story as a Goebbelesque suicide pact.<br /> <br /> g.
