I wonder, does anyone read Berry (Dornford Yates), Bulldog Drummond (Sapper) or Topper (I can't remember who wrote them)? How about Tommy Hambledon (Manning Coles)? How many people have even heard of them?
*crickets* Yes, I've heard of them, but I don't read 'em. I don't read anything that wasn't written either later than 10 minutes ago, or before the 17th Century.

Written by Thorne Smith, who wrote other "comedy" books, he/she (not sure) was the Donald E Westlake (The Hot Rock) of the thirties. I have an old edition of a collection of three stories (including Topper). Exremely dated, but still funny. Wouldn't part with it.<br />
