Fred Astaire - I don't know what this is from. I don't recognise it at all.
<p>the Astaire clip you did not recognize is from 'Holiday Inn' a perrenial fave here in the states, as it's the original screen appearance of 'White Christmas'...essentially the movie is an Irving Berlin songbook, loosely tied together around the idea of an Inn that is only open on holidays. Bing Crosby plays the other lead, who 'writes' a new song for each holiday. this is the 4th of July piece.</p><p>On another note, i'm a long time fan of your sight. great stuff always.<br /></p><p>Here are some things i think you might enjoy:</p><p>Old 97's -- great texas bar band, their early stuff is fabulous.</p><p>ReelTime travelers-- Old timey bluegrass</p><p>Charlie Hunter -- Jazz vituoso plays an 8 string bass..what you realize live, but wouldn't know from listening, is that he alone is playing the melody and the bass line simultaneously. He has done work on Bluenote records, but is currently on bloodhound I believe. </p><p>Keep up the good work! </p>
