Fantastic. Low tech (easy to learn and to use) and durable and easily manufactured in small communities given some concrete and nuts and bolts. There was another Canadian I head about a few years back who came up with a dead simple water purification system (I think it was) for use in West African rural communities that needed it. A little ingenuity and a little cash can go a long way in Africa.
