RIP Willie Johnson - only just heard (That is "Peerie" rather "Blind" of course)
<p>When I first saw the name, I immediately thought of Blind Willie Johnson. And what with the "only just heard" line, I was wondering how come it had taken 60-odd years for the news to get to you.</p><p>I had to Google the name and dig until page 2 or 3 before I spotted the obituary article from the Independent Online for the Willie Johnson to whom you are referring. Never heard of him myself, but it still saddens me to hear of the death of any musician. I also get the impression from what I have read that he was something pretty special and that I now need to get out there and find some recordings (if there are any). <br /></p>
