J-Counters - so rabbits use the bird counter because of their ears!
I like the way long cylindrical things are counted by using the word for "book"... because a rolled-up scroll (as opposed to a hanging scroll) is a long cylindrical thing. This is reinforced by the apparent lack of a native word for "page".<br />
