That was nearly a proper bl*g post!
I was having a look at some of the "Facebooks for old people" such as EOns where you have to be in the USA for some reason, and TeeBeeDee where the first captcha word given was "shag" so I reloaded and got "glastonbury" and then "moonwalk". I suspect this is another USA only site and the shag referred to is the dance. I think I'll stick with facebook - these sites seem irredeemably cloying and upbeat beyond sense. (You can friend me on facebook if you want, though do make sure that you identify yourself in some sensible way so that I know that you really a "friend". For some definition of friend that means we have never met, are never like to meet and indeed have never spoken nor do we know what each other looks like....

And don't you get so annoyed at shopping sites that insist you "register" - I wonder if they know how much lost trade they get because of it. Especially when they take paypal!
Explain to me why women's clothes shops are full of jeans with 36" legs but mens ranges all stop at 34". Is it to much to ask for a pair of 34/26 black jeans with a zip fly? It does seem to be at the moment. The ebay search box for leg length stops at 34. Can I buy long leg jeans in Holland perhaps?
The piper is good but I could do without the rest of the band who just sound out of tune the whole time.

I have just seen a couple of places talk about "an XML". I assume they mean an XML file or a piece of XML or some XML coded data, but I am not entirely certain.

Bizarre sight of the day : two Hari Krishnas, both with bicycles with trailers, squatting on some steps leading in to a shopping center in town. One of them typing away on an iBook and the other chopping carrots into a stainless steel pan.

I have gone to the attic and carefully taken out the package containing the cone of silence. I have unwrapped it, admiring the burnished copper bifurcated rivets used in its construction and, as is the tradition for this time of the year will be lowering it in to place very soon. However, I *guarantee* that if you look at some time in the next couple of weeks I will appear in every single one of these webcams : TJ's, <1Ann's Cottage0> and Seascape. Of course, the times at which I will appear are not subject to whim and weather so you'll just have to keep looking. I'll be the one carrying a bifurcated rivet.

I mentioned the Macupdate bundle the other day as not going as well as the Macheist one. Well, they did unlock all the applications, but only by fiddling their numbers - the last one is now marked 5999 but yesterday it was 9999 as far as I recall. Sounds like cheating to me.

Daughter has been in Spain on work experience (working afternoons in a specialist Jazz/Blues/Classical record shop). Went to pick her up from the airport and found that parking the car actually costs more than many flights. How does that work then?

My Wegen picks arrived today - they are rather fine things and seem to have increased my volume quite a lot.
The Macupdate bundle doesn't seem to have the same appeal as the Macheist ones - not selling fast at all.

You need some of these if you use a plectrum. I tried some at the weekend and was most impressed. Expensive but probably work it - they do all kinds of specialist picks.

Playing at the "end of term concert" tonight at the Sage and as far as I can tell someone has lifted my iPod and my digital camera from my bag which was left in the "secure area". So I am not happy.
Oh, and there are loads of others I hadn't seen!!!!!! Deep joy
All Freebase invitations gone - I was one short of having one for everyone who asked so if any of the invitees get some invitations can you invite "the last guy"?

RIP Roy Hilton - none of you will know him but he was a character and a man of principle. He sometimes wore two hats as well.

Fenwicks on Northumberland Street were playing Cantaloupe Island through their street PA system as I walked by today. Odd.
